Kickin it for the next 2 weeks!

So much has happened but I've been too pre-occupied to blog about it.  (I'll be sad later on I'm sure).

Anywho, last night Jordan and I made gingerbread houses with our good friends.  Even though I was pretty tired when we arrived, it was still lots of fun.  Especially because their little boy will be almost exactly a year older than ours when we have him so I get more excited for our little guy to arrive when I see their adorable son.

While we made our gingerbread houses, their little boy was hanging out on the floor, and seriously ALMOST crawling.  It was SOO cute!  He scoots around, but doesn't quite get the hand-knee motion down yet.  I wish I had taken video!  Here is before and after gingerbread pictures.  Jordan mastered it...me...at least I tried!
Jordan had the idea of using our marshmallows as shingles.  I reluctantly said okay.  So, we got to work on one side.  I suggested they be cut in half.

Then Jordan decided he didn't like that idea because it took too long...and he wanted to do whole marshmallows on the other side.  I didn't like that idea so I let him have at it.  We know who the clear winner was!  (not me.)

So, I was kind of proud of the wreath I thought up.  The little leaves were from a bottle of sprinkles our friends had.  The door is made out of fondant.

Final photos.  Jordan put little sour patch kids on top...he's funny like that.

Oh Boy!!!

In May, we are expecting a boy!  I'm sad no girly dress up sessions but my husband is so excited to have a son and I'm glad my kids will have an older brother.

Ya, I've Been Incomprehensibly Busy!

Multiple things have happened which most of you already know.  We bought a house (a duplex in Gilbert).  We are also expecting our first baby in May of 2014.  We are super excited.  We also just found out what we're having... it's a surprise for now. :)

Life is Tough Sometimes...

Life has been brutal lately.  I anticipated this school year being a smoother transition than last year since it is my second go around teaching 2nd grade.  I was wrong.

In fact, it's probably about the same.  I was planning a wedding at this time last year.  However, now I'm in the process of moving and my sister just go home from her mission and I'd really like to spend time with her but I'm just so gosh darn busy with all of these other little things in my life.

I've got an Etsy account I'm trying to manage and also trying to get my passport for this cruise I'll be going on at the beginning of October.  It's just a lot and sometimes I break down and cry because I'm so overwhelmed!

Oh, and the printers at work are almost all but incapable of working leaving any copying I need to do very complicated because...well, let's just say it takes 10 times longer to print than if they did work properly.

I feel like the world thinks it's funny to rain down problems on me.

Jordan's grandpa has died so now I have to plan for a sub for two days this month because the funeral is on a Monday.  BUMMER.

On top of it all,  We're saving up for a house so any extra expenditures are out of the question.

And, warning: TMI, I have had my period 2 times longer than normal this month and the cramps are really bad so I'm super crotchety with my students...and, unfortunately Jordan too.  I feel like a horrible wife and teacher, I just want them to go away.  It feels like I'm being punished for not being pregnant...which is another topic for another post on another day....I digress.  Here are some photos as of late.......
Turns out, the day before school at Walmart is like the day before Christmas.  CRAZY town!

Airport meeting!  Yes, I cried!  I was THAT happy!
I took my sister to Big Surf the day after she got home from her mission.  Nice weather for a swim! (She surprised me when she decided she wasn't going to keep her shorts and t-shirt on).
My sister is taking a bowling class so I took her bowling...I love winning 3 frames in a row. :)  thanks Whitney! :)

Bad photo from my iPhone but my friend Brooke got married!  Crazy because she started dating her now husband, when I started dating Jordan more than a year and a half ago!

My room one day before the "meet the teacher"...YIKES!

My bulletin board, minus the student's names.

Iowa is B-E-UTIFUL!

We had an amazing time in Iowa this last weekend!  Perfect cloudy weather for pictures.  It was also a lot colder than expected...so, we had to buy some sweaters.  I'll  take cold over hot any day though.  You can always put more clothes on to shelter yourself from the cold, but you can't always do that for the heat. ha ha...

This is Jordan's grandpa's house that we stayed in for the ime we were there.  It is so beautiful!  (Wait, I already said that in the post description.)

Jordan and his brother at their FAVORITE ice cream shop!(Jordan talks about it all the time in comparison to any ice cream we eat).

We went to the John Deere Commons...which was really just a museum to me.  Some of the tractors in there was seriously SOOO massive.

Picture of me on the Skywalk.  It was just that, a walkway above the street.  But, it was really cool because behind those reflective walls are actually windows and you can look out over the city! It was really pretty.  (Sorry that I don't have a picture of the view but I assure you it wouldn't do it justice).

Jordan's dad took us sailing on our last day...when the sun finally decided to shine on us!  It felt nice when the sun was out but when it was behind the clouds, it was darn cold!

Jordan chilling out on his dad's boat.
Jordan was so cold and pretending to be a Sith Lord...with a mustache.

First Tiger Lily I've ever seen was on the side of Jordan's grandpa's house.  Perfect overcast lighting for a photo of it!

Paper Rosettes

I wish I had known how to make these back when I was purchasing things for my reception almost a year ago!  Wow, time is flying.

Anyways, I love making these cute decorations and hopefully I can find someone on Etsy who would love to purchase them.  They take a bit of time to make, but I think the end result is well worth it! :)

I'm calling these "Orange you glad I didn't say banana". ha ha..

It's Poster Day!

I'm trying to be proactive and make some posters for school this year...this is mainly to reduce all the annoying comments from students like, "what happens if...??"

My Mustached Man

This Saturday will be exciting because we're driving down to Yuma for Jordan so he can compete in a mustache competition.

He always talks about going but he has never been.  I took a photo of him last night next to a lovely old photo on someone's wall.  It's pretty cool.
That's an all natural mustache baby!  He had two teenagers ask if they could get a picture of his mustache...JUST his mustache.  That's not unusual so I didn't even blink.  It just makes me laugh...it's like his mustache is a celebrity!

Also, for the Fourth of July I attempted to be cool and make this cake pop art piece:
However, it was just TOO darn hot in my apartment so they would not set!  sooo frustrating!  And, the blue dye I used just really wouldn't get to a dark blue.  Oh well, good thing all of my family will eat them anyways!
Only 3 weeks of summer vacation left!  AHHH!!!  Gotta live it up!

I Sell on Etsy Now!

I got my self an Etsy shop so I can try and do something with all of these polymer clay creations I've been making.

And, I'm thinking, I'll send 1 out to someone for kicks.  So, If you want one, maybe you should comment before...let's say July 4th, and I'll randomly pick someone to receive it.  Here are some samples of what I've made...
Ignore the pizza cutter in the back ground. ha ha...

Earrings for Mother's Day

Ignore the hideous nail polish!

This is my black and orange narwhal charm.

Another bow ring, this one is slightly larger than the pink above.

I feel so proud!  Maybe not of the products but that I taught myself!  Anyways, that's my post...just a little shameless self plug and giveaway!

Indoor Rock Climbing

We had a Groupon for the Phoenix Rock Gym.  (We've actually had it for quite a while but haven't quite found the time to go.)  Until now!

Needless to say, Jordan rocked it.  ha ha...I made a joke.  ROCK.... ha. ok, not that funny.

We Play hard...and work a Little I Guess

Now that it's summer and we have a few weeks to truly relax form stressful teaching obligations (I.E. Grading papers/lesson plans), we've been able to get in some hobbies.  (Probably me more than Jordan because he still has to work his full time job).

I'm working for my parents the next couple weeks, but I come and go as I please which is really nice!  I've also made some homemade Reese's peanut butter cups, cake pops, and pretzels! I love being crafty and trying to make new foods!

While I slave in the kitchen, Jordan practices his thumb exercises...
Oh, I almost forgot!  I tried this new marbling nail polish technique.  It does take a bit of set up time and taping your finger all around the nail, but it looks pretty cool in the end!

You take your nail polish and drip it in the water. (I suggest NOT using the quick dry nail polishes shown here because they obviously dry quickly and don't swirl well.)

This photo of my nail is not from those colors in the cup above, this is just the picture I took from another set of colors I used.

Oh ya, one more thing that happened a week or so ago, we got me a new ring.  It wasn't expensive but I love it just the same!  I don't believe a ring has to be expensive.
Good thing my nails happened to be painted with my new nail polish!
